Who We Are
Bishop Joshua Jones
Pastor Joshua Jones, also known as Andy Asseviero, was born on August 23, 1967, in the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago. He is the son of the late Theodore Asseviero and Mother Sylvia Asseviero and the 6th child of 12 sisters and brothers; Samuel Asseviero deceased. Pastor Joshua grew up in St. Mary's Village Moruga. He attended St. Madeline Junior Secondary School, then Morga Composite School where he graduated in the field of Interior Design. Later he developed a passion for sewing and began sewing for friends and family. This passion inspired his entrepreneurship, and he built his own fashion company, "Saints Design." Pastor Joshua also worked as a police officer for the M.T.S.
At an early age, Pastor Joshua developed an insatiable desire for the Lord. His quest to know God drove him to spend lots of time in study, fasting, and prayer. He started singing, preaching and witnessing for the Lord, eventually becoming the Choir Director, Evangelist, and the Youth Pastor of the International Gospel Centre Church at White Trace, St. Mary's Village Morga Road.
On April 6th, 2002, Pastor Joshua was ordained as a Pastor with the International School of Bishops. He joined Christ Life Ministries in Brooklyn New York, under the leadership of Bishop Julius Abiola. There he served in various ministerial positions and under his watchful eye their dance ministry was born. In 2012, Pastor Joshua graduated from ITT Tech with an Associate Degree in Computer Networking. He is the founder of the International Association of Independent Ministries (IAIM) where he provides spiritual leadership for churches worldwide. He is also the founder and president of JJ Ministries which serves as an outreach ministry in Baltimore County and helps support students of the Featherbed Elementary School.
Pastor Joshua is a man of integrity. He passionately accepts God's call to pay careful attention to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made him overseer, caring for the church of God, which Christ obtained with his blood (Acts 20:28).
Family
In 1989 Pastor Joshua met the love of his life Marlene Hankey, and in 1991 they entered holy matrimony. They are the proud parents of three children daughter Adana, and sons Anderson and Mikael.
Senior Pastor Marlene Asseviero
Pastor Marlene Asseviero was born in the Island of Trinidad and Tobago on April 4, 1967 to the proud parents of Bishop Roy and Fedora Hankey. In 1987, she gave her heart to the Lord and became a member of the International Gospel Centre. There she served in the office of Church Administrator, Alter Worker, Women’s Leader, Intercessor, Assistant Youth Leader and Sunday School Teacher. After faithful service for many years the Lord promoted her to Deaconess, Evangelist and Minister. On June 15, 1991 she married her sweetheart Reverend Joshua Jones and the Lord blessed them with three beautiful children, daughter Adana and sons Anderson and Mikael.
In 2000, Pastor Marlene migrated to the United States of America with her children, where she worked with the TFM ministry under the leadership of Pastor Ann Decoteau. In 2002, Pastor Marlene was ordained as a Pastor with the International School of Bishops in Brooklyn, New York. Pastor Marlene and her family became a part of Christ Life Ministries Inc., in Brooklyn, New York in 2003 under the leadership of Bishop Julius and Pastor Matilda Abiola. At Christ Life Ministry she served in the Dance Ministry and in April 2004 she was awarded her Notable Service.
In 2018 Pastor Marlene Asseviero assumed the role of Senior Pastor of God’s Army Christian Centre. She constantly travels to the Caribbean and across America preaching the gospel. She co-author an Anthology book "The Secret Prayer of a Righteous Black Woman."
In 2024 she launched a Ministry in her country of birth, Trinidad and Tobago.
